Chimney fire rousts New Paris residents

No injuries were reported after residents escaped from their house into the bitter cold early Sunday morning. A chimney fire broke out at the house in the 70000 block of County Road 17 just after 2:30 a.m., according to an Elkhart County emergency services dispatch supervisor. Firefighters from Foraker remained at the scene for about an hour.
