Elkhart County police still investigating woman’s death

ELKHART — Police continue to investigate the death of an Elkhart County woman who was found nearly two weeks ago inside her home. Alicia Zeiger, 44, of the 56000 block of County Road 3, was found dead by her son in her kitchen on Dec. 27, police said. Trevor Wendzonka, spokesman for the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, said police are not sure how she died, whether it be from natural causes, a fall or a homicide. Wendzonka added that there were no signs of forced entry or tracks in the snow. The Tribune called the Elkhart County coroner’s office this morning, but the call was not immediately returned.
