Closet fire sparked by electrical problem at South Bend house

An electrical problem is blamed for a fire contained to a closet Monday afternoon at a South Bend house. Firefighters were called to the 1700 block of Huey Street at 12:52 p.m. Light smoke was escaping through attic vents when firefighters arrived. The fire was quickly extinguished. No one was injured. Damage was estimated at $1,500.
