South Bend crews fighting fire find frozen hydrant

Firefighters at the scene of a fire at 818 S. 31st St. in South Bend have found a frozen hydrant, a dispatch supervisor confirmed this afternoon. A call for help came into dispatch at 12:20 p.m., she said. She said everyone got out of the house. Firefighters are using alternative measures to fight the fire, according to scanner traffic.
