MISHAWAKA ‒ St. Joseph County Prosecutor Mike Dvorak wants to change the law involving the deaths of police K-9s. This comes after Mishawaka Police Corporal James Szuba and his K-9 partner Ricky were killed last month. Police say the suspect was driving drunk. Dvorak wants to make it a felony to kill a law enforcement animal while driving drunk. He's asked State Representative Craig Fry of Mishawaka to add language to a bill already moving through the Statehouse.
