Plymouth police arrest vehicle theft suspect after crash

PLYMOUTH — An attempted traffic stop led to a police pursuit and the suspect crashing an allegedly stolen vehicle. Plymouth police tried to pull over a vehicle at 9:40 p.m. Saturday; however, the suspect fled with police in pursuit. The vehicle crashed at Rose Road and Sixth Street in Polk Township, with the driver running away, according to a news release. Police determined the vehicle was stolen, and the 23-year-old suspect was apprehended by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. The Plymouth man was booked in the Marshall County Jail for suspicion of auto theft and resisting law enforcement. He’s awaiting a court date on a $1,000 cash bond.
