KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — A standoff in Syracuse ended this evening with one person in custody. According to Indiana State Police it started around 2 p.m. when police went to serve a warrant on a suspected meth lab at a home on Marine Key Drive, on the south side of Lake Wawasee. Police say David Reed barricaded himself inside the home armed with a shotgun. State Police called the SWAT team to the scene. Officials say Reed drove through the garage door trying to get away, but a police vehicle blocked the driveway. Police fired three shots at Reed before they took him into custody. Reed was not injured. Reed is preliminarily charged with resisting arrest. Police are still investigating whether a meth lab was inside the home.
