Man arrested after Wendy’s robbery in South Bend

SOUTH BEND — A man was arrested near the Wendy’s restaurant at 3401 Lincoln Way West after it was robbed Friday night. Police said a clerk told them the man placed a food order about 10:25 p.m. When he was told how much his food would cost, he allegedly showed the clerk a handgun and told the clerk to give him all the money or somebody would be shot. The clerk said she handed over the money. Police said customers chased the man a short distance before returning to the store. Investigators found a man who matched the description of the robber nearby and arrested him, according to a police report.
