Police have arrested a Silver Lake man after leading sheriff’s deputies on a chase in south Kosciusko County, police say in a news release. Ronald Lee Bailey, 41, was preliminarily arrested and charged with felony fleeing/resisting law enforcement, invasion of privacy/protective order violation, and driving while suspended. His bond has been set at $2,000. Kosciusko County sheriff’s deputies responded to a noon call Sunday that alleged Bailey was violating a restraining order in the 12500 block of South County Road 700 West in Silver Lake. Officers arrived at the residence and were informed that Bailey had left. However, moments later, Bailey approached the residence on County Road 700 West but immediately turned his vehicle around and began to flee the area, police say. County officers caught up with Bailey on Indiana 14 near the area of County Road 500 West, at which point he failed to pull over and continued eastbound at a high rate of speed, police say. Police continued to pursue Bailey on Indiana 14 and then northbound to the 9200 block of South Packerton Road. After arriving at this location, Bailey attempted to flee county officers on foot and disregarded verbal commands. He then was stunned with a non-lethal Tazer gun and taken into custody. Fulton County sheriff’s deputies said that apparently Bailey had initially left the residence after the first 911 call and had rammed his vehicle into his estranged wife’s vehicle near Akron in Fulton County before the pursuit. Possible charges from that incident are most likely to be filed by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department.
