SOUTH BEND — Four more people have been charged in connection with the shooting death of a 22-year-old man, according to a news release sent today by the St. Joseph County prosecutor’s office. Quentin Leonard, 17, has been charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder, a Class A felony, in the death of Phillip O. Bell of South Bend. Three others, Sean Lottie, 19; Billy Mitchell, Jr., 29; and Marvin Tobar, 20, have each been charged with attempted murder in the death. Mitchell and Tobar are in the custody of the St. Joseph County Jail, but Leonard and Lottie remain at large with warrants issued for their arrest. The additional charges make a total of eight defendants accused in the homicide case. Previously charged with murder in Bell’s death are: Derrius Brown, 19; Benjamin Harris, 22; Brittney Jones, 23 (charged with one count); and Michael Mason, 19. Bell was killed Oct. 21 in the 600 block of Birdsell Street. He died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
