A high-speed chase in southwest Michigan ended when a motorcycle and passenger car collided in Benton Township Sunday evening, leaving three people injured. The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department said their officers joined in the pursuit just after 6 p.m. as the motorcyclist, who had initially refused to stop for a Michigan State Police officer, continued racing down Interstate 94. Police continued chasing the motorcycle as it headed toward Benton Township, at speeds exceeding 100 mph, according to a press release from the MSP Bridgman post. It was in Benton Township that the cyclist and car crashed at the intersection of Crystal Avenue and Territorial Road. Police say the motorcyclist, a 19-year-old from Chicago, was hospitalized in stable condition. And a 12-year-old passenger in the car was treated at the scene for minor injuries. But there’s no word on the condition of the driver of the car, a 33-year-old woman from Benton Harbor. Police say the crash remains under investigation.
