KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Authorities say two Akron, Indiana men were flown to the hospital Sunday evening following a single-vehicle accident along the Kosciusko-Fulton County line. The accident happened about 7:15 p.m. at the intersection of Indiana 14 and County Road 1000 West, according to police. Officers arrived to find that a car had sheared off a tree and was resting on its top. The driver and passengers had to be extricated from the vehicle. Police say the driver, 26-year-old Kerguin L. Baca, was heading southbound on C.R. 1000 West when he drove off the road and hit the tree for an unknown reason. He is listed in serious but stable condition as of Monday morning. A passenger, 17-year-old Yovani Luva, is listed in critical but stable condition as of Monday morning. Police believe that alcohol was a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
