SOUTH BEND — A 20-year-old South Bend man, possibly intoxicated, crashed into four parked cars on east Victoria Street late Wednesday, authorities said. Rescue crews spent 15 minutes extricating the man from his Pontiac Bonneville. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said. Groups of Victoria Street residents stared at the scene from their front lawns as crews pried apart the mangled car to reach the man. Police said alcohol likely played a role in the accident, and the man was clearly exceeding the street's posted speed limit as he traveled east on Victoria. The accident occurred around 9:45 p.m. in the 400 block.
