Tax day prompts several protests

Several local tax day protests are scheduled for Thursday. Tea party groups have organized protests in South Bend, Elkhart and Niles. In South Bend, protesters will gather at 5 p.m. at Leighton Plaza in South Bend. The plaza is located at 202 S. Michigan St. In Elkhart, a protest will begin at 5 p.m. at the Elkhart Civic Plaza. In St. Joseph, Michigan, a protest is planned for 4 p.m. at the Berrien County courthouse.
