Threads of Love binds parents, memories of children lost too soon

October 21, 2010|By Clifton French (cfrench@wsbt.com)

A gathering of parents, bound by the loss of children, spent an autumn Sunday afternoon at Pinhook Park in South Bend remembering and releasing.

At "Day of Remembrance," memories were shared of little ones lost too soon and a pink and blue balloon bouquet floated heavenward.

The annual gathering is sponsored by Threads of Love-Isaiah Chapter sewing ministry based in North Liberty. The chapter formed in 2008 and was named in memory of Isaiah Daniel Tubbs. Isaiah's mother, Kandis Tubbs, is chapter president.

Threads of Love is a national outreach sewing ministry striving to meet needs of tiny infants, and newborns who die because of miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death.
