All traffic lanes on US 31 have reopened after being closed for several hours Thursday evening following a serious accident in Marshall County, according to police dispatchers.
The accident was at US 31 and First Road, according to a Marshall County emergency dispatcher.
Medics airlifted one person to a South Bend hospital following the accident, said the reporter on scene.
The accident happened after a SUV pulled onto US 31 and into the path of a tow truck hauling a semi, according to the reporter. The victim was the driver of the SUV. The tow truck driver was unharmed.
