Two cars were totaled and a third suffered front-end damage in a three-car accident on County Road 6 near Freda Road that sent two people to hospitals, according to a press release from the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department.
The accident happened when a Ford Explorer traveling west on County Road 6 crossed the center line striking a car and causing it to spin around and hit a car that was traveling behind it.
The driver of the eastbound car was taken to Memorial Hospital for a broken arm; a nursing supervisor said that she was in stable condition at 1:38 a.m.
The driver of the westbound car was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for leg pain, the press release said. The driver of the third car was not injured.
No citations were issued at the crash scene, according to the press release.
