Three of four people who were taken to the hospital after a crash on the Indiana Toll Road in Elkhart County on Saturday remain in area hospitals Sunday, Indiana State Police report in a news release.
The other person was treated and released. All the victims are from out of state.
The four people were taken to the hospital after the accident at the 92.9 mile marker (near Indiana 19) about 3:20 p.m., two by helicopter.
State Police say the driver of a Toyota heading east lost control of his vehicle, crossed the median and crashed head-on into a Kia in the westbound lane.
The crash shut-down a section of the Toll Road for three hours.
The driver of the Toyota is in stable condition; his passenger was treated and released.
The driver of the Kia is in serious condition; a passenger in that car is in fair condition.
