SOUTH BEND — A sexual predator hid in a drugstore bathroom and then attacked a worker at the store early Saturday afternoon at the Walgreens at Ironwood and Lincoln Way East, police said.

The man is Robert Kemp, Jr., a 31-year-old man who is listed on the Indiana Sex Offender registry as a sexually violent predator.

According to police reports, the attack happened about 1:30 p.m. when a 19-year-old employee walked into the bathroom where Kemp was hiding. Police said Kemp was interrupted when another employee walked in.

Kemp ran out of the store and went west but 5 people chased after him with one tackling him and holding him down until authorities arrived, police said.
