March 02, 2011|WSBT-TV Report

Two police officers were injured during a car chase Tuesday morning near Benton Harbor.

It all began on M139 just south of Pipestone Road in Benton Township. Police tried to pull the car over but the driver, 25-year-old Samuel Brown of Benton Harbor, sped away. Brown pushed his passenger, 20-year-old Lashay Taylor, out of the speeding car.

The chase lasted about 10 minutes. Brown lost control, hitting an unmarked police car. There were two officers inside that police car that were injured in the accident.

Brown's car stopped at the intersection of Foster and Columbus in Benton Harbor. He tried to run but was caught by a police dog.
