One injured when pickup truck crashes into garbage truck on U.S. 12 in Michigan

A 21-year-old Vandalia man suffered multiple injuries when the pickup truck he was driving crashed into a garbarge truck Monday morning.
In a news release, Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. said Zachary Jacobs was driving east on U.S. 12 east of Michigan 217 in Porter Township in Cass County when he failed to see a garbage truck driven by Todd Camilo-Guijosa, 23, which was stopped to make a left turn into a driveway. Jacobs' pickup crashed into the garbage truck.
Jacobs was transported to Elkhart General Hospital by Porter ambulance for injuries sustained in the crash. Camilo-Guilosa and his passenger, Jason Harman, 37, were not injured.
Assisting Cass County deputies were  Edwardsburg Police and Porter Township EMS and firefighters.
