GOSHEN — A man was rescued from his burning home Tuesday morning by Goshen Police Officer Michael Johnson. The officer, assigned to Goshen High School as a resource officer, was in the area of 7th and Jefferson streets when he heard the fire call dispatched.
Goshen firefighters were dispatched at 8:17 a.m. to the 300 block of East Jefferson Street.
Johnson, who arrived before firefighters, saw the house was fully engulfed and a man inside the house standing by a front window. The man seemed disoriented by the fire, according to a Goshen Police Department news release.
Johnson was able to pull the man through the window, which then shattered.
Goshen Fire Department medics treated the man at the scene. Johnson was not injured.
