Six units battle vacant South Bend farm house fire

SOUTH BEND — Cause of a fire that destroyed a vacant farm house early Saturday morning in South Bend is under investigation.

A Clay Fire department news release indicates crews were called at 12:51 a.m. Saturday to the 51000 block of Orange Road.

Upon arriving, crews found the two-story house engulfed in flames. Departments offering mutual aid included Southwest Central, Notre Dame, Niles City, Niles Township and Betrand Township. VEST volunteers helped with traffic control.
