SOUTH BEND -- People are taking the search for lost pets to the internet. With a Facebook page dedicated to finding missing dogs, instead of posting flyers, a simple Facebook post can get the word out to people across the web.

"I would give up everything I have and own just to get them back," Jessica Navarro, who lost her two Cocker Spaniels in November, said. "I think I roamed the streets everywhere I could think of until 3:00 in the morning the next day and couldn't find them."

Navarro started posting flyers around her South Bend home after her two dogs disappeared, but with no word, she turned to the internet by posting pictures on Craigslist.

On Wednesday, her plea was posted somewhere new: The Facebook page called Lost/Found Dogs of Saint Joseph County, Indiana.  It was created just last week for people like Navarro.

"If you're not watching Craigslist you don't see them, so I figured creating a Facebook page would be a good option," page creator, Caitlyn Osmer said.

"Since Facebook is so popular, I was honestly surprised there wasn't something like this already," Osmer said.

So far the page has around 40 followers.  The eventual goal is to have a much larger following where people can post a lost dog and anyone who found it can then re-unite them with their owner.
