EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say a southwestern Indiana firefighter drowned in a hot tub after attending a pool party.
Vanderburgh County Coroner Annie Groves says 27-year-old Nathan Kuehne (KEEN) drowned early Monday morning. The firefighter with the McCutchanville Fire Department was invited to a friend's Evansville house Sunday to pick up some home furnishings and stayed for a pool party.
Police said Kuehne was drinking for several hours Sunday before the friend took him to a guest bedroom to rest. Late Sunday night, the friend heard a noise outside but didn't see anything when he looked outside.
The Evansville Courier & Press reports that the friend found Kuehne's body in the hot tub about 6 a.m. Monday.
