REELSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — State conservation officers have found the body of a central Indiana man who vanished last month during a kayak trip on a rain-swollen creek.
Conservation Officer Max Winchell says the body of 48-year-old David Pritchett was found early Thursday morning during a search on Big Walnut Creek near the town of Reelsville.
The body was found about a half-mile downstream from the area where Pritchett was last seen April 19 leaving his Putnam County home in a kayak. The site is about 35 miles west of Indianapolis.
Pritchett took his dog on that trip, and the dog returned home the following day.
Winchell says conservation officers are investigating Pritchett's death, and an autopsy will be conducted Friday at a Terre Haute hospital.
