Indiana DNR has released the name of a man who drowned in a Kosciusko County lake on Thursday evening.
State conservation officers say the body of 35-year-old Martin Regan of Orland Hills, Illinois was found about four hours after he was lost in Lake James near the town of North Webster.
Just before 3 p.m. Regan had been swimming with friends and jumped off a pontoon boat. His friends called 911 when he didn’t resurface.
Underwater search teams used sonar and GPS to locate Regan’s body. He was found in more than 40-feet of water.
An autopsy was planned to confirm how Regan died.
Agencies involved in the search and recovery were Indiana State Police Underwater Search Rescue Team, Indiana Conservation, North Webster Police and Fire, Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department and Warsaw Police.
