Police are investigating a shooting on Western Avenue that wounded at least one man.
Captain Phil Trent with South Bend police told WSBT the details are sketchy at this point. A witness told police they saw a blue Chrysler with a bullet hole in the door leaving the area, but did not see any shooters or the person who was shot.
Shortly after that a man walked into Memorial Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to Trent. When police showed up at the hospital to take a report, they found the blue Chrysler outside.
“Right now we don’t know if he was trading gunshots with someone or if he was just outright shot,” said Trent.
