June 20, 2011|By Jason Overholt (joverholt@wsbt.com)

Mishawaka police say two teens are in trouble for false informing after they claimed an accidental stabbing was the work of others.

The 18 and 16-year-old boys were playing with a knife when the 16-year-old was accidentally stabbed in the back, say police. This happened a little before 11 p.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of Fall Creek Drive in the Village Green mobile home park.

The teens told police two other men started a fight with them and were responsible for the stabbing.

The 18-year-old was arrested for false informing. The 16-year-old’s case was forwarded to the Juvenile Justice Center for review.

The 16-year-old’s injury was minor.
