Police say a deputy with the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department is on administrative leave after he was arrested for eight counts of possession of child pornography.
In June, police say LaPorte County Sheriff Mike Mollenhauer requested assistance from Indiana State Police in the investigation of Deputy David Oldham, 42. The need for an investigation was sparked by what police called “questionable actions” on Oldham’s part, but they have yet to reveal what those questionable actions were.
During the investigation, an ISP detective developed information alleging Oldham was in possession of child pornography. He was arrested without incident and booked into the LaPorte County Jail on $10,000 bond.
Oldham is on administrative leave pending a disciplinary hearing scheduled sometime in August.
