Elkhart police are investigating a possible armed robbery with shots fired at a recycling yard.
This happened at Sam Winer & Co. Inc. at 923 Edwardsburg Avenue in Elkhart. A neighbor who talked to WSBT reported hearing three or four shots fired around 10:15 a.m. Employees were seen running from the scrapyard lot.
Numerous officers and a crime scene investigation van were dispatched to the business, where they began collecting evidence including shell casings. Police say they are investigating this as a possible armed robbery or attempted robbery.
