SOUTH BEND — Lanes on the St. Joseph Valley Parkway, also known as the U.S. 20/31 bypass, are being closed for 20- to 30-minute intervals during the day today and Friday between Indiana 23 and U.S. 31.
The intermittent closures will allow crews to lift concrete beams over the highway to building the new Ireland Road bridge.
Work was scheduled to begin both days at 9:30 a.m. and last until 4 p.m.
The closures today will be in the eastbound lanes. Westbound lanes will close Friday.
