LAKEVILLE, Minn. (AP) — Police in south Minnesota are looking for a father who abandoned his 11-year-old son because their home was in foreclosure.
Authorities say the 60-year-old Lakeville man left two notes. One said their home was going to be sold at a sheriff's sale and that the boy should take his PlayStation and go to a neighbor's house. The other asked the neighbors to take care of his son.
The boy is in foster care and is expected to be permanently placed with a relative. An arrest warrant has been issued for the father.
Authorities say one letter revealed to the boy that his mother is alive when he had been led to believe she was dead. A St. Paul Pioneer Press report (http://bit.ly/nh9wkg ) says police don't know where she is.
