Claypool man killed in Kosciusko County motorcycle crash

September 07, 2011|WSBT-TV Report

Police say a Claypool man was killed Wednesday morning when he failed to slow down in time to avoid slowed traffic in a construction zone.

Shortly after 9 a.m. William Wells, 32, was driving his Harley southbound on State Road 15, just north of the town of Leesburg, when police say he came up on a construction zone and tried to brake at the last minute. He struck the back of a pickup and then slid into the northbound lane to collide with another pickup.

Kosciusko County Coroner John Sadler pronounced Wells dead at the scene from severe blunt force trauma to the head.

The crash is still under investigation.
