GOSHEN — Firefighters brought a scary situation under control quickly Sunday night in downtown Goshen.
Crews were called out to the corner of Main and Madison streets at 8:55 p.m. on a report of propane-hauling semi on fire. Actually, it was a semi’s tire on fire and it exploded, catching part of the trailer on fire.
Firefighters had the fire under control at 9:06 p.m., according to an emergency dispatch supervisor.
The driver told police there was a problem with the rig’s brakes. Then a tire exploded and the trailer was burned.
Police said the driver refused medical treatment.
