HELL, Mich. (AP) — A parade of hearses in the Michigan community of Hell was part of an attempt to make the record books.
The Detroit Free Press reports (http://bit.ly/puT7ma ) organizers of Saturday's gathering said 51 hearses were part of the procession about 45 miles west of Detroit.
The Hell-based car club called Just Hearse 'N Around said it needed at least 50 hearses to qualify for a new Guinness World Records category of "Largest Parade of Hearses." Organizers tried for a record last year, but fell short when 43 hearses showed up.
Guinness World Records will need to verify the mark before it's officially recognized as a record.
