SOUTH BEND — South Bend schools officials and police are investigating an alleged rape that reportedly occurred Monday at Riley High School.
A 15-year-old girl was taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment after she said a 16-year-old boy raped her just before 3 p.m. Monday at the high school in the 1900 block of South Fellows Street, according to a police report.
South Bend schools spokeswoman Sue Coney said the case is an ongoing investigation, adding: "We’re still conducting our own internal investigation, as well as police."
Coney said when the school system was made aware of the allegation either Tuesday or Wednesday, it was reported to police.
