According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office David J. Oldham, 42-year-old resident of LaPorte, was arrested on Thursday morning on a federal warrant.
Oldham was charged in an indictment with possession of child pornography and evidence tampering.
The U.S. Attorney’s office said that Oldham was a LaPorte County Deputy Sheriff and had already resigned from his position.
“The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge,” says a spokesperson of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, “after a consideration of federal sentencing statues and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.”
