Republican Wayne Curry, who is hoping to be the next mayor of South Bend, is expected to face the city in a courtroom at 11 on Friday morning over a land dispute.
Curry claims South Bend is trying to take his home illegally. He says the city can't take his home through the eminent domain laws because the development planned for his neighborhood is privately funded.
Developers say Curry's ongoing litigation will likely delay groundbreaking for the Eddy Knolls subdivision.
Curry's home is just south of Eddy Street Commons near the Notre Dame campus.
Curry also says he will back down if the city offers him what he thinks the property is worth.
The case was supposed to go to court last week but was postponed.
