Police to speak publicly today on murder of Goshen professor

October 14, 2011|WSBT-TV Report

We're expecting to learn more this afternoon about the ongoing investigation into the murder of Goshen College professor James Miller. For the first time, police will speak publicly about the case.

We do not know what information police are going to release about the investigation during the 3 p.m. news conference. But since Professor James Miller was killed in a home invasion early Sunday morning and his wife Linda seriously hurt, Goshen Police have only communicated with us through e-mail.

Linda was released from the hospital yesterday.

The suspect in the murder is described as a clean-cut white man in his early to mid-twenties, between 5”10’ and 6 feet tall.

We have no word on any arrests, but again, police are holding news conference this afternoon.

Police have advised people in Goshen to lock doors, not to be out alone at night, and call officers if they see anything suspicious.

A spokesperson from Goshen College told WSBT he and one of the college's administrators will be at the news conference too. He said they want to be able to give people living on and around campus the very latest information as soon as possible.
