A St. Joseph, Michigan firefighter accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a minor is no longer a city employee.
The Berrien County Sheriff says began his department began investigating Captain Scott Moore after it received a complaint three weeks ago.
Paul Bailey would not release details and says the investigation is ongoing and has not yet been sent to the prosecutor for possible charges.
But St. Joseph Police Chief Mark Clapp told WSBT the city manager has issued this statement: “The city has determined based on what we know right now that it is in our best interest to separate ways with Fire Captain Scott Moore. He is no longer employed by the city. Our obligation is to protect the public.”
