BENTON HARBOR – Benton Harbor schools are facing financial problems and the state may have to step in.
State Superintendent Mike Flanagan sent a letter to Superintendent Leonard Seawood this week telling him a 30 day review will start on Monday.
He says the state is concerned about several issues including the projected $18 million shortfall for next year.
There are additional steps the state could take to help the district by ending with the possible appointment of an emergency manager.
