A 23-year-old Niles man is dead following an accident Sunday evening at U.S. 12 and U.S. 31 in Berrien County.
Right now investigators don't know what caused Andrew Wuthnow to crash his Toyota into a bridge support.
"We don't see any skid marks or unusual characteristics that are usually typical of loss of control or an accidental crash,” an officer told a WSBT photographer at the scene. “So we're going to have to investigate the crash a little further to try to find out the true cause of what caused the driver to leave the roadway."
Police say Wuthnow was not wearing a seat belt.
The collision occurred in the eastbound lanes and traffic was restricted to one lane there for hours.
