Officials probe gun evidence after fire, 3 deaths

December 12, 2011

CRYSTAL LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities are examining gun evidence following an arson fire last month at a house in Michigan's northwestern Lower Peninsula where three family members were found dead.

The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/tOA5YE ) Monday that four bullets were found in the body of 17-year-old Christopher Luedtke. The other victims were 52-year-old Chris Luedtke and his 45-year-old wife, Linda.

Authorities haven't yet determined how they died.

The three bodies were found after the Nov. 16 fire in Benzie County's Crystal Lake Township, about 30 miles southwest of Traverse City.

Sheriff Rory Heckman says the bullets and another one found at the home were from a .38-caliber revolver registered to Linda Luedtke. Authorities say the fifth bullet and the gun were found near her body. The deaths are under investigation.
