RV company plans new factory in northern Indiana

December 28, 2011

TOPEKA, Ind. (AP) — A recreational vehicle company plans to expand and add employees to its workforce in northern Indiana.

Crossroads RV announced Wednesday it will spend $3.9 million to buy land and build a new 93,000 square-foot facility next to the company's existing factories in the LaGrange County town of Topeka.

Crossroads says the expansion could lead to it hiring an additional 250 workers by 2014. The company now has about 600 workers building fifth-wheel and towable recreational vehicles at factories in Topeka and Syracuse.

Company president Don Emahiser says the new factory will give it the flexibility needed to expand production. The company expects the new factory to be operational in June.
