AKRON – A Kosciusko County teen was severely injured in a car crash, police say, Tuesday afternoon when his vehicle hit a pile of cement blocks causing the car to flip.
According to police, Dylan R. Stimeling, 17, from Mentone were driving his 1994 Chevrolet Camaro south on State Road 19 when he decided to pass another vehicle leading him to lose control of his car.
Officers say that they had to extricate him from his car and airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne for head trauma. Stimeling is in critical but stable condition.
Police says that he was wearing a seat belt but the excessive speeding is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
