SOUTH BEND — A 35-year-old South Bend woman told police she was stabbed in the stomach Thursday afternoon by a man who came to her front door saying somebody owed him money.
The woman said she was at her residence about 1:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Lincoln Way West when she answered a knock on the door. She said she didn’t recognize the man.
The suspect reportedly stabbed her through a missing window in the door and ran. The woman did not get a good description of the assailant, police said.
She was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.
