Tippecanoe barn fire kills 36 4-H goats

CLARKS HILL, Ind. (AP) — A Tippecanoe County barn fire has taken the lives of 36 goats that were being raised by 4-H Club members.

WLFI-TV reports (http://bit.ly/w6emfp ) the fire early Saturday near Clarks Hill, about 45 miles northwest of Indianapolis, killed the goats that were being raised by 11 members of the Lauramie Willing Workers 4-H Club.

4-H'er Kenzie Neidigh (NIE'-dee) tells the station she lost 20 goats including four newborns. Neidigh and her family got a call around 1:30 a.m. Saturday saying the barn had been engulfed in flames.

WLFI says two horses escaped the fire.

4-H leader, Kathy Monjon (MUN'-jun) says the cause of the fire is unknown.
