UPDATE: Rear end crash injures South Bend Police officer

SOUTH BEND — A South Bend Police officer was taken to Memorial Hospital Tuesday morning after he was injured in a rear-end crash at Portage and Auten roads in South Bend.
Officer Derek Deiter complained of back pain and was checked out at the hospital.
