A 16-year old girl is stable in the intensive care unit after being shot Saturday night on South Bend's East Race.
Police say the she was not the intended target, but was caught in the crossfire.
A Metro Homicide investigator tells WSBT a crowd of about 30 to 40 people were in a parking lot near the Emporium Restaurant around midnight.
Police say the 16 year old was shot in the arm, then the bullet entered her chest.
They haven't made any arrests, and say they're having trouble getting witnesses to cooperate.
